An experimental documentary shot in a rural Midwestern town accompanied by voiceover text read from the police blotter of a local newspaper describing a certain crime in a specific location.
Artist Statement:
I first came upon the police blotter in my hometown’s local newspaper, “The Daily Standard” while waiting in the dentist’s office. In a small town where nothing much “happens,” I thought it might be interesting to attempt to discover where the crimes in the police blotter took place. This project was first exhibited as still black and white photographs with text at the California Institute of the Arts in 2004.
